Vigilancia arqueológica en la calle Marqués de Estella Nº 5 (Sevilla)

Abstract

Español: Este artículo pretende exponer y analizar en clave histórica los resultados obtenidos durante el desarrollo de una actuación arqueológica en una parcela del antiguo Arrabal de San Bernardo. El estudio de la secuencia recuperada nos ha permitido acercanos a temas tan diversos como la formación natural y la gestación de la topografía actual, la utilización del solar como cementerio durante el período bajomedieval cristiano o los procesos de expansión urbana durante la Edad Contemporánea. Inglés: The aim of this article is to analyse and show, from a historical point of view, the results obtained from the development of an archaeological site situated in the ancient Arrabal of San Bernardo. The study of the recovered sequence has enabled us to apprach a variety of topics, such as the natural formation of the area and how the present topography has been brought about, the use of the site as a cemetery during the Christian Late Medieval Period and the processes of urban expansion during the Contemporary Age.
