Abstract

Español: En este capítulo se recopilan todos los estudios realizados por medio de técnicas científicas para caracterizar los materiales constitutivos de la rueda, desde el punto de vista de su estado de conservación, para identificar los agentes biológicos de deterioro y para evaluar el comportamiento de los diferentes productos consolidantes y su interacción con los materiales existentes en la obra. El estudio material de la rueda se ha realizado con técnicas no destructivas, la radiografía y la gammagrafía, que ha puesto en evidencia la constitución de las piezas que la forman, y con técnicas de análisis como la Difracción de Rayos X, la Espectrometría Infrarroja y la Microscopía Electrónica de Barrido con Microsonda de Rayos X, técnica que se ha utilizado también para estudiar la interacción de los consolidantes con el sustrato. La identificación de los agentes microbiológicos se ha llevado a cabo por Microscopía Óptica. Inglés: This chapter brings together all the studies performed using scientific techniques to characterise the materials employed in the construction of the wheel, in terms of their state of repair, in order to identify the biological agents responsible for their deterioration and to evaluate the behaviour of the different consolidant products and their interaction with the materials used. The material study of the wheel was performed using non-destructive techniques, radiography and gammagraphy, which enabled the identification of the different constituent pieces of the wheel, as well as analysis techniques such as x-Ray Diffraction, Infra-red Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy with x-Ray Microprobe, a technique that was also used to study the interaction of the consolidant products with the substratum or supporting elements. The microbiological agents were identified by means of Optical Microscopy.
