Cultural Landscapes and Social Perceptions on the Internet. A Methodological Proposal

Abstract

The analysis of landscapeperceptions is an emerging fieldof research that erupted ontothe scientific scene after thepromulgation by the Council ofEurope Landscape Convention(2000), which placed social agentsat the core of the development oflandscape protection, managementand planning policies. Theobjective of the PAYSOC projectwas to design a methodology forlandscape perception analysis in contexts in which the deploymentof traditional ethnographicalstrategies is especially difficultdue to a lack of resources, warsand conflicts, a lack of safety,social lockdown, etc. The project’sinterdisciplinary nature has alsoallowed strategies to be designedfocused on the normalisation ofthe procedures developed so thatthey might be applied with similarcriteria whatever disciplinaryperspective is being worked from.
