Abstract:	The practice of cante alentejano has resisted the challenges of a rural society in permanent transformation, in the progressive tension between the local and the global. With this text I intend to contribute to the debate about the resignification of musical heritage, based on the questioning of power relationships and the resistances associated to the institutionalization of intangible cultural heritage. La práctica del cante alentejano ha resistido a los desafíos de una sociedad rural en permanente transformación, en la tensión progresiva entre el local y el global. Con este texto pretendo contribuir para el debate en torno a la resignificación del patrimonio musical, a partir del cuestionamiento de las relaciones de poder y de las resistencias asociadas a la institucionalización del patrimonio cultural inmaterial.
