Abstract

The collective volume Innovating in Discourses, Advancing in Research, coordinated by Begoña Soler Mayor and Paula Jardón Giner and published by the Museum of Prehistòria of Valencia, brings together the contributions presented at the 5th Pastwomen Conference (2022). The work constitutes a benchmark in feminist research applied to heritage and archaeology, while offering methodological and political tools to reformulate historical narratives from more inclusive perspectives.Structured in two sections—"Museums, Heritage, and Education: Proposals and Tools from Feminism" and "Feminist Research in Action"—the volume combines theoretical reflections and case studies. The first part highlights proposals for transforming museum discourses, incorporating a gender perspective and overcoming androcentric representations. In the second, various works highlight female agency in different historical contexts and assert the potential of feminism as a driver of disciplinary renewal.The book's clarity of exposition, academic rigor, and educational focus lend it added value, especially with regard to its commitment to coeducation and the inclusion of traditionally marginalized audiences. Although the intersectional dimension could have been developed in greater depth, the work represents a notable step toward a more plural and democratic history. In this sense, the Pastwomen collective has established itself as a key player in the construction of new critical perspectives on the past.

El volumen colectivo Innovando en los discursos, avanzando en la investigación, coordinado por Begoña Soler Mayor y Paula Jardón Giner y publicado por el Museu de Prehistòria de València, reúne las aportaciones presentadas en la V edición de las Jornadas Pastwomen (2022). La obra constituye un referente en la investigación feminista aplicada al patrimonio y la arqueología, al tiempo que ofrece herramientas metodológicas y políticas para reformular los relatos históricos desde perspectivas más inclusivas.
